At Sohodox we are constantly on the look out for information which will help small businesses manage their documents better. So when the good folks at Software Advice contacted us about a Corporate File and Folder Taxonomy that their CEO Don Fornes has created, we just knew we had to share it with our readers.
In his blog post Don says that a few years ago he became concerned about whether he was organizing their corporate files properly. So he engaged their law firm to audit his files and folders to ensure they were organized in a logical manner. Don goes on to say that till this day every receipt, invoice and document collected by everyone in their company is scanned and saved in this folder structure.
We really think the folder taxonomy will be very helpful for our users.
Don shared this taxonomy as a zip file. Simply unzipping the file will create the same folder structure on your local drive. Of course as Sohodox users you already know that simply dragging and dropping this folder structure in Sohodox will recreate the same within Sohodox. See screen shots below…
This is the folder taxonomy, that Don created…
And this is how it would look when imported to Sohodox…
Software Advice has allowed us to host the file on our and share the same with our readers. Please click on this Zip File to download
